Friday deep snow :)

Back from the other side of the woods (yesterday), and this heavy snow is a real workout- at the top of the hill over the bridge in the picture everyone else's tracks run out (I guess the going was too heavy and they turned back) and for the next mile or so it's just mine and Holly's tracks!

It's coldish (32.8F), and snowing very lightly, but I'm in just a T-shirt and I'm sweating!

Freezing Sunday afternoon

Very cold (17.5F), with a stiff breeze and late afternoon sun.

The snow is packed down on the trails, but it's been so cold it hasn't melted and refrozen so it's perfect winter hiking underfoot without needing any kind of traction help.

The snow then freezing rain then rain yesterday, combined with the warmer temps today (38.9F) make for a slushy walk. Things got away from me yesterday so it was just a tennis ball in the rain at the park.

Snowy Wednesday

Well, we got about a foot last night- fabulous for snowshoeing (now what I need are some gaiters to keep my legs dry).

Cold and still: 33.4F.

No music- it's too nice with the snow deadening the traffic noise- just me, the snow, the occasional goose honking in the distance, and my dog :)

Yet again the forcast is for snow, although this time it looks like we will actually get some- 8-13" overnight if they're right.
