A bit later than usual, Jackie took Cris to a doctor's appointment this afternoon so I hung around at home to see her briefly as she stopped in to get her D&D figures before heading back to Purchase :)

Warm and humid, 74F, and mostly overcast.

The remaining residents of Earth are not playing well together.

Wednesday

As Wednesday is now my day off (for many reasons, but mostly coz it's Cris's clearest day so it'll be easier to take her to doctor's appointments and stuff) I have come out with my camera to just take some pictures for fun. I haven't done this for ages, and if any of them turn out to be any good I'll put them on the main blog :)

Didn't get here yesterday as I was enjoying some time with Crisp, so Holly had to make do with a leash walk.

No headphones today, I find even music is too distracting when I'm taking pictures.

Monday

Another nice day, 73F and very pleasant. I've spent most of the day installing bulletin boards and cubbies around the nursery school, so I'm looking forward to getting home and taking a shower :)

A little cooler, 77F, and mostly sunny, not too humid either.

Quiet day just futzing at home, but we're meeting Colin & Christie for dinner in Westport later :)

No word from Crisp, so I assume that means all is well.

Thursday

After a mostly relaxing day (though feeling restless and twitchy for no real reason) a nice, warm walk in the woods. There's a bit of a breeze, so the 79F is quite comfortable.

Wednesday

Move in to college completed. Jackie and I are sad, but Cris could not be happier- which makes us feel better :)

A warm day to do it, 80F and humid.

Bob launches in a hurry and goes about creating a VR to live in.

Tuesday

A warm one today, still 86F and sticky. I went to photograph an un-air-conditioned apartment in White Plains today (more on this later in the main blog I'm sure) and nearly sweated to death.

Last meal with Crisp at home tonight, I'm sure there will be tears tomorrow.

Warm and sticky, 85F. The eclipse was interesting but not really as big a deal as everyone made out. I'm sure being in the area of totality would have been very cool though.

Another warm day, 81F right now.

Church outside went well again this morning, then Jackie and went for an anniversary brunch at the Roadhouse.

Lots of rain last night, and so today it's very humid, 82F.

A new book... We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor. A sci-fi novel about a man whose head is cryogenically frozen and who wakes up in the future as a computer program. Pretty good so far :)

Friday

After torrential rain this morning it's started to brighten up a little, but it's got to be about 99% humidity so the 79F feels a lot worse and I'm drenched in sweat!

No music or anything today, I'm enjoying the buzz of the bugs and the drip of the water as the light breeze shakes it out of the trees :)

Warm and mostly still and close, 81F. The bugs in the trees are very loud today.

Listing to random Indian rock music on Google Play, coz the Beeb were talking about Partition on the way here.

A bit late for a Sunday, but at least it's a tad cooler and less humid than earlier, 82F.

Cool but humid, 74F, mostly overcast with occasional bursts of watery sunshine.

Warm and a bit sticky as there's no breeze to speak of, 79F.

Listening to the audio version of the questions for the civics test as I've just found out my citizenship interview is on September 11th (and that's not weird at all!)

I've kind of given up on the rest of The Handmaid's Tale. The book was good and well read, but the lecture at the end is tedious and annoying- partly the content and partly the incredibly pompous delivery!

Thursday

A half day at work and then running about getting Crisp's eyes tested, ordering glasses and stuff. A quick dog walk then of to the orthodontist.

Quite a pleasant day, a bit grey this morning but it's brightened up a lot, 76F.

Listening to a podcast about WordPress as I'm doing a little tinkering to put together a new website for this year's confirmation class.

I'm pretty much totally recovered, did some pretty good manual labor this morning filling a dumpster and I feel fine :)

Early walk today as we're going to Target this afternoon to shop for Crisp's dorm room- I have the obsession of making sure everything paid for and all the paperwork is done, Jackie has the need to make sure her daughter's nest is feathered and comfortable ;)

Caught in the rain

There's something quite nice about walking in the rain, once you just resign yourself to the fact that you're going to get wet :) Thunder boomers and 83F.

I feel mostly recovered from my colonoscopy yesterday, I'm a bit gassy and have the vague feeling someone punched me in the belly, but otherwise I'm fine.
