Snowy woods

A quick lunchtime walk in the snowy woods as Crisp and I have to go to the Bronx this afternoon.

Cold and snowing, 29F but colder in the wind.

More History Boys.

Monday, January 30, 2017

Cold, brisk and mostly clear with a gentle breeze, 33F.

No Alan Bennett today as I was on the phone with mum and dad filling them in on my plans to apply for citizenship... more about that to follow on the main blog...

A very nice, seasonal day. 41F and breezy, mostly sunny and brisk.

Sharing classes.

Saturday, January 28, 2017

Busy day, just grabbing a few minutes between an altar guild luncheon and a taize service.

Grey and cool, 35F and breezy.

Hector is asked to resign.

Friday, January 27, 2017

Cooler and a tad more seasonal, 41F with low cloud, occasional peeks of sun and a gusty wind.

Back to The History Boys.

Thursday, January 26, 2017

With learner permits and dentist appointments and stuff the last couple of days we haven't made it to the woods since Monday, so I came out for a lunchtime walk to make sure we got here today :)

Warm and partly sunny, 52F.

Listening to the WS and President Douchebag's childish tweets to Mexico (good for Mexico for cancelling!). I've got to stop doing this, it's not good for my blood pressure.

Stormy Monday

Just the short loop as it's pissing down and very windy, 40F.

No headphones as I'd like to be able to hear if a tree is about to fall on me ;)

Sunday, January 22, 2017

Unseasonably warm, 51F, overcast and a bit windy.

George got beter and we're on to The History Boys.

March on Saxon Woods

I wish I could have gone to Washington, but I am wearing my pink pussy hat and Holly and I are being our own small protest march around the woods.

A much nicer day for the marchers than for twitface's inauguration yesterday, 46F and sunny.

George gets even madder.

Fateful Friday

Ugh. The three saddest words I've heard in a long time: President Donald Trump.

It is suitably grey and dreary, 41F.

Listening to the World Service.

Thursday, January 19, 2017

Warm but mostly cloudy, 44F.

This play is like a cross between Black Adder and The King's Speech :)

Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Dampish Wednesday

Not actually training, but cool and damp and breezy, 43F.

Listening to Newshour on the WS as there's lots going on in the world!

Monday, MLK

A nice quiet day off. Lunch with the Sesays and now a nice stroll in the woods. Cool and mostly cloudy, 40F.

The Last of the Sun.

Sunday, January 15, 2017

A nice, still, sunny and cool afternoon, 40F. We had a dusting of snow last night, which has just iced the scenery as if with confectioners sugar.

This is an odd bunch of recordings, there is nothing on the Audible app to mark the change from one to another, and some have credits and some don't. We've just finished Two in Torquay and are now in a wonderful long rambling monologue by Bennett describing Thora Hird's last radio recording in Studio 7 at Broadcasting House.

Saturday, January 14, 2017

Colder again, 28F, and all the mud has frozen. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a snow shower later.

Kafka on trial.

Friday off

What a lovely day! Windy and sunny and brisk, 45F, with a bright blue sky overhead (wispy clouds around the edges).

Kafka's Dick.

Tepid Thursday

What silly weather... 63F and quite windy, a few spots of rain a few minutes ago, but nothing to really speak of.

Holly has graduated to a new, slightly smaller, brace that finally arrived from Germany. It seems to still give her ankle/wrist the support it needs, but is a bit less stiff and heavy than the other one so I think she's a bit more comfortable :)

Just finished Say Something Happens.

Warmer Wednesday

Silly weather! It's 50F and I'm out in my shirt sleeves :) Most of the snow is gone but the ground is still pretty frozen... it'll be a muddy mess by tomorrow though.

Miss Prothero prattles on.

Tuesday in the gloaming

A bit late today, twilight and 32F.

Just finished 40 Years On, and now it's A Visit From Miss Prothero.

Monday, January 9, 2017

Clear and cold, 20F, with only a gentle breeze taking it down to a"feels like" of 16F.

More 40 Years On.

Frigid Sunday

Beautiful but very cold- feels like 7F!

It's kind of surreal to be walking through this freezing landscape white listening to Gielgud wax lyrical about motoring down to Kimber on a midsummer night to hear the nightingales.

Saturday, January 7, 2017

Snowy Saturday :)

What a lovely day! Snowing moderately and 19F.

Holly loves the snow and is toasty and warm in her Ruffwear coat.

I finally finished the Arthurian legends- a bit of a slog, but I'm glad I did it. Now I've found a nice compilation of 12 BBC productions of Alan Bennett plays, and first up is Forty Years On.

Thursday, January 5, 2017

Cool and cloudy, 30F. We're supposed to finally get some snow tonight, but of course we have a funeral in the morning so I won't be able to come and play in it.

It's only taken 32 and a half hours, but Arthur is finally dead!

Tuesday, January 3, 2017

Absolute pissing down! 42F.

Just the short loop in this weather.

Guinevere is to be burned, will Sir Lancey rescue her?

Many good intentions...

Happy New Year!

The must have been an awful lot of resolutions made last night and this morning- I have never seen so many people out in the woods! We'll see if I see them again next Sunday ;)

Quite warm and sunny, 45F.

Sir Lancelot heals another knights wounds just by being awesome!
