A nice walk after a fun day out on the Circle Line with Mum and Dad. First proper fall-feeling walk... still a bit warm, 66F and humid, but windy with leaves and nuts falling all over the place :)

Just the short loop today as I have to pick up Mum and Dad in 25 minutes for our big early family dinner tonight :)

They had a good flight back from Virginia Beach, jet-setters that they are!

Cool and breezy, but a bit more humid again, 67F. The birds are very loud today for some reason...?

Starting The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt at Dad's recommendation.

A lovely day, 78F and sunny. Mum and Dad have gone back to the hotel for a snooze so I've nipped out with the dog before Crisp dazzles us tonight with his signature Steak au Poivre :)

Grandma & Grandpa Day

They're in the air and should be landing in about 3 1/2 hours :)

Warm and slightly more humid, but not uncomfortably so, 67F with a nice gusty breeze.

Finished the first Dexter book yesterday, so just random music as a bit of a break...

Quite a nice day, a bit warm but with a nice breeze, 79F.

Another quite warm one, 85F.

Dexter tells a story.

Wednesday, September 16, 2015

A tad warmer, but still quite nice, 82F.

Listening to the recording of the last time Ruaraidh and I did our version of Peter and the Wolf as we're doing it again in October and I need to start relearning the timing (one of these days I'll learn to read music).

Tuesday, September 15, 2015

Another nice day, if a little warmer, 80F.

Debra is a little miffed.

Still quite humid (yuck) and overcast, 75F.

Dexter is intrigued by the ice connection.

Very humid after yesterday's rain, 70F, but it feels much warmer. Sunny and a nice breeze every now and then.

Dexter goes out in the dark.

Warm and overcast and sticky with a gusty wind, 85F.

Tuesday, September 8, 2015

Hot and sticky again, 91F. There's a bit of a breeze but it really doesn't help much.

Early walk today as I have lots of running around to do this afternoon.

A body with no blood.

Labor Day

Warm and a bit sticky, 85F.

Spent the morning ripping the deck of the back of the rectory (to find that it will need to be completely replaced). But after this walk I shall take a quick shower and then we're invited to go and enjoy the Heffernan's pool :)

Dexter makes his first kill.

Sunday, September 6, 2015

Another nice day, 81F, sunny, with the odd gentle zephyr.

Finished The Road about 1/2 a mile back. Beautifully written and very moving, I'm glad I "read" it, but it is definitely not light reading!

Next up I do have something lighter on deck, a book about a serial killer in Miami, Darkly Dreaming Dexter. Although it doesn't sound lighter, if it's anything like the TV series they based on it, its overall tone should be quite upbeat and humorous. It's read by the author (not something I'd usually recommend- let the authors write the books and leave the reading to those who specialize in it) but as the lead character is a little weird and it's written in the first person it may work quite well... time will tell.

Saturday, September 5, 2015

Actually quite a lovely day. 77F, sunny and a gentle breeze :)

A quick walk and then back to the pool some friends have graciously offered for our use while they're away for the weekend :)

More joy on The Road, a naked thief.

Friday off

A late walk for a day off, had to wait for Jackie to get home from work as we'd swapped cars for the day so I could finally get spare keys cut for the new one (and not pay the $90 the dealer wanted!).

Not as warm and a bit of a breeze, 79F.

The man find a flare pistol.

Sweaty Thursday

Hopefully the last of the hot and sticky days for a while, 92F, we are due for a break, apparently.

Cannibalism? What a happy book this is!

Wednesday, September 2, 2015

Warn and sticky (again!), this is getting a bit boring... 87F.

The man catches a cold and dreams.

Tuesday, September 1, 2015

Hot and sticky again, 86F.

Old Eli.
