A quick walk between rain showers, it's not quite as warm as yesterday, 81F, but feels much worse coz of the humidity (that the rain is just feeding).

Just the short loop and a swim today, then Holly will spend he rest of the afternoon and evening at home in the coolth of the AC while we go and swim at the Heffernan's :)

Torrid Tuesday

Hot! 88F, though the humidity is not as bad as it could be. I shall go home and have my third shower of the day (one this morning, one at lunchtime after I finished cleaning out the boiler room, and now one to wash away the sweat of a dog walk).

Monday

After a crazy weekend of circling the pool, the Heffernan's come home tonight (and so does Guinness), so Holly and I are back in the woods where we belong.

Warm, buggy and very sticky, 82F, but we're parked by the stream so Holly can finish with a dip :)

After a couple of crazy hot days when I decided Holly's circuits if the pool were enough, we have a beautiful day. 80F, lower humidity, sunshine and a gentle breeze :)

Superheated Sunday

85F, but the humidity puts the heat index at 105F!

Holly and I are just doing the short loop and then I'm going to take her back to Rye and leave her at home for the afternoon while I head to White Plains and the pool. When it's this hot she just doesn't know when to stop and ends up completely exhausted, so we'll stop on the way back to the car so she can have a swim in the stream and then she can enjoy the AC at home until I pick her up at about 5.

Saturday

It is ugly hot today! 77F but with 81% humidity it feels like 89F. Sunny and sultry and yugh! So just a short walk in the woods today and then Holly and I will both go and fall in the pool :)

Finally finished GoT yesterday and fancied something a little lighter for a while, so at my son's recommendation I have started Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett's Good Omens, read by Martin Jarvis. About 30 minutes in and I like it so far... it reminds me a bit of Douglas Adams.

Friday off

Another lovely day. Low humidity, a nice breeze, sunny and 75F :)

I had some running around to do this morning, getting the boy to work etc., but after this I'm planning on spending the afternoon by the pool!

(After 200+ hours I'm just over an hour from the end of GoT, or at least as much as has been written so far. I shall definitely listen to the next one when it comes out, but at this stage I'm ready for it to be over and I'm quite looking forward to something else!)

Very muggy and humid, 79F.

Didn't get here yesterday, what with thunderstorms and Colin's birthday and stuff. Still, it doesn't do Holly any harm to have a break as she's expending so much energy running around with Violet and Sparrow :)

Sultry Sunday

Back in the woods to give Holly a break! She's spent the last couple of days going round and round the pool, the problem being that it's very hot and she doesn't know when to stop so she is totally exhausted by the end of the day. She's smart enough to go in on the top step to cool off, but she won't take a break and stay still.

So this morning I brought her over to the church and she's spent a quiet morning at home; we'll do a nice quiet walk and then I'll leave her at home and pick her up when I pick up Crisp from work at 8. That way she can recover a bit :)

*Update: after about an hour on the phone with the auto glass shop and the insurance company (at the same time- conference call!) it turns out we're insured, and so they'll come to the church on Monday to replace it and it won't cost me a penny :)
