Thursday

A busy day at work, replacing windows and getting my usual Saturday work done so I can go to an acolyte festival at the Cathedral on Saturday morning. And tonight Jackie& Crisp are taking me out for a birthday dinner :)

A tad cooler and starting to get windy and overcast, 66F.

Listening to the World Service for the reaction to last night's appalling performance from Donald Fuckhead :(

Wednesday

Happy birthday to me :)

Another warm one: 80F and quite humid, but with a gentle breeze and lots of sunshine, so not bad at all really.

Listening to a playlist of "American primative" acoustic guitar music.

Tuesday

More silly weather- sunny, breezy and 79F!

The Knight with the Red Shield beats all comers.

Monday, October 17, 2016

Muggy Monday

This weather is silly! The middle of October and it's 77F and humid.

Run away Sir Mark! Run away!

Sunday, October 16, 2016

Sunday afternoon

Another pleasant day, mostly sunny and 63F, though the weather is supposed to get silly for the next few days- up around 80F!

Heard a review of a Beatles documentary on the way here, which reminded me of the Rutles, Eric Idle and Niel Innes' parody band from the 70s, so I'm listening to them :) I love Google Play Music!

Saturday, October 15, 2016

Late Saturday

A later walk than usual for a Saturday, we spent the morning at the Cathedral fit Tami's ordination :)

Calm and sunny, 63F. Back to the full loop- but much to Holly's disgust I did not bring a tennis ball.

Sir Mark is a dick!

Friday hi-res

Here's another version of today's pictures, this one with the 6D & the 70-200 (from a little further back to try and get closer to the same view- tough as it's a longer lens), taken as a bracketed HDR shot.

And here is a panorama stitched together from 11 shots all taken at f/11, 0.4", ISO 100, and put together in Lightroom. The compression Blogger puts on the pictures kind of spoils it, but this lens is so crisp and sharp that this would happily print out 6' wide :) If you're interested you can view it larger at Imgur by clicking here.

Friday pictures

Out with my new lens (birthday present that arrived a little early- thanks Jake, Crisp and Mum & Dad!), a 70-200mm f/4L :)

It's actually a perfect day for this as I'm spending lots of time setting up shots so we're moving slowly, so Holly will have been out for well over an hour but will not have gone too far as she's just getting over a bit of a limp.

Cool and sunny, 53F.

Listening to a Google radio station based off Tubular Bells.

Tuesday, October 11, 2016

Tuesday

Another pleasant fall afternoon, 60F and low sunshine.

More Beatles...

Monday (off)

Just got back from what seemed to be a quite successful college visit to SUNY Purchase. The campus and the college is really nice and diverse, and quite small (4,500 students) with a really nice spread of (mostly) arts and science courses- and of course it doesn't hurt that it would be quite cheap! And we found a course that seemed right up Crisp's alley- New Media- a cool blend of art and technology, photography, web, video, writing and more. Don't want to push her into it, but it really seems tailor made, we'll see if it goes anywhere...

Cool and sunny and very nice, 59F.

Listening to a Beatles playlist while I mull this morning over.

Sunday, October 9, 2016

Sunday

Cool and rainy, 52F.

Sir Lancelot seeks Sir Tristram.

Saturday, October 8, 2016

Sultry Saturday

Overcast, cool and quite humid, 66F.

Listening to the BBC WS, they were discussing Trump's latest disgusting gaffe we drove here. It beggars the mind that anyone who is a woman, loves or knows someone who is a woman, has a daughter, or has a mother can continue to even consider him as anything more than dogshit. And while I applaud the Republicans who have disowned him, the fact that others are tiptoeing around trying to distance themselves from things like this while still endorsing him make me absolutely sick!

Friday, October 7, 2016

Friday off

Another pretty day, 68F with a gentle breeze and lots of sunshine.

Sir Tristram is the Man in Black.

Thursday, October 6, 2016

Thursday

Another pretty fall day, sunny and 70F. But I an sad to report the death of Crisp's snake Bill. I don't think we did anything wrong, he ate just last week and seemed fine then, and the temp and humidity in his tank hasn't changed, just one of those things :(

Sir Tristram is banished from Cornwall.

Wednesday, October 5, 2016

Wednesday

Another pretty afternoon, 65F and late sunshine.

Everywhere the other knights go they seen to run into people who are waiting to kill Sir Lancelot, he seems to have royally pissed off a lot of people!

Tuesday, October 4, 2016

Tuesday

A lovely afternoon, sunny with a light breeze and 68F.

In the middle of a crazy email/text conversation for work, so I couldn't concentrate on my book... so I'm listening to Mike Oldfield's Ommadawn (the deluxe edition) instead :)

Monday, October 3, 2016

Monday

Overcast and a tad more humid, 68F.

Someone finally knocks Sir bloody Tristram off his horse!

Sunday, October 2, 2016

Sunday

Overcast and cool, 59F. We're supposed to get showed later, but hopefully they will hold of until after the animal blessing at 4.

Sir Lancelot and the knight with the funny coat have adventures.

Saturday, October 1, 2016

Saturday

A nice fall day, 62F and mostly still.

Sir Tristram is fairly boringly unbeatable it seems, however he has just wed another and pissed of his lady.

Friday, September 30, 2016

Rainy Friday

Here's that rain we were promised :) wet and 58F.

Sir Tristram and his lady drink the love potion.

Thursday, September 29, 2016

Thursday

Cool and breezy, 64F, with a mostly grey sky but still no sign of the promised rain.

No audiobook today as I was catching up with Colin in NH :)

Wednesday, September 28, 2016

Soon to be wet Wednesday

Cool and overcast, 62F, and it's been looking like rain most of the afternoon (I spent the morning cleaning all the gutters at the church in anticipation), though none yet. Apparently it's going to rain most of the night and tomorrow- good thing, we really need it!

Sir Tristram gets smitten and then does some smiting of his own.

Tuesday, September 27, 2016

Tuesday

A tad more humid than yesterday, but still quite nice, 72F.

Sir Tramtrist runs afoul of his girlfriend's mother!

Monday, September 26, 2016

Monday

What a beautiful day! Late sun, a nice breeze and 70F. Today is the first time in ages we've done the long loop comfortably without being drenched in sweat at this point :)

Taking a break from King Arthur and listening to Tubular Bells- which I haven't heard in forever but was reminded of by The Exorcist on TV the other day :)

Sunday, September 25, 2016

Sunday

Lovely fall day- sunny, a gentle breeze and 65F.

We survived the brunch and we're just out for a quick walk before heading over to celebrate Jody's birthday.

Skyping with mum and dad :)

Saturday, September 24, 2016

Saturday afternoon

Back in the right part the woods; the construction barriers are still up but, as it's the weekend, I could park in the office building across the street's lot.

I've escaped from the craziness of the nursery school touch-a-truck fair for a little while, and it's s nice day- sunny and 70F.

No book today as I've been having a nice chat with my brother via Skype :)

Thursday, September 22, 2016

Thursday

Quite a nice day, 82F but clear and pleasant.

Sir Gareth comes upon the castle of the Brown Knight and the 30 ladies- I'm assuming he will prevail as he's been smiting and running through pretty much everyone he's come across so far ;)

Wednesday, September 21, 2016

Wednesday

A little more sun today, and a tad less humid, but still warm, 83F.

News of Sir Gareth's exploits reach King Arthur.

Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Torrid Tuesday

Warm and sticky again, 80F and still. I have to say- I'm ready to feel chilly and need to put a sweater on!

Sir Beaumains defeats the mighty Red Knight.

Monday, September 19, 2016

Monday

Cooler but still damp and humid, 71F.

The damasel with Sir Beaumains is a bit of a bitch!

Sunday, September 18, 2016

Sunday

Overcast and sticky again, 76F.

Sir Lancelot saves Sir Meliot.

Saturday, September 17, 2016

Saturday

Lots of families out in the woods today, and why not? it's a lovely day :)

Sunny with an occasional breeze and 74F. It's quite surprising how many leaves have already fallen, probably because it's been so dry.

Sir Lancelot and the knights with white shields.

Friday with the 7Dii

And another version of todays picture from the 7Dii, an HDR composite of 3 shots.

Friday off

Another lovely day, 71F and clear :)

No book today as I'm taking advantage of my day off to come out for a leisurely stroll with my camera to enjoy the peace and quiet after a fairly crazy week at work ;)

Thursday, September 15, 2016

Thursday

Cooler and sunny, 71F.

Sir Gawain sneaks off for an adventure.

Wednesday, September 14, 2016

Wednesday

Kinda warn and sticky again, 86F. Humid and mostly cloudy but a bit of a breeze makes it more bearable.

Arthur goes to France.

Tuesday, September 13, 2016

Tuesday

Another nice day, 79F with a nice breeze.

An early walk today before Crisp has his laser face torture and then we have the staff/vestry BBQ for Susan.

Sir Marhouse and the giant.

Monday, September 12, 2016

Monday

A much pleasanter day, 76F, low humidity and a gentle breeze :)

The tale of Sir Pelias.

Sunday, September 11, 2016

Sunday

A very successful farewell picnic this morning, but I am now shot!

It's a little cooler and quite a bit less humid, 79F.

A counterfeit Excalibur.

Saturday, September 10, 2016

Saturday

Another crazy hot weekend, 86F but feels like 94F. It's going to be very uncomfortable in church tomorrow if it's crowded!

King Pelinor lacks a horse.

Friday, September 9, 2016

Friday

Still very hot (88F) and I fear it's not going to cool off much before the festivities this Sunday.

Arthur weds Guinevere and the white hart appears.

Thursday, September 8, 2016

Thursday

I know I said today was going to be another day on the leash, but Holly looked at me so plaintively I couldn't not come to the woods. But just the short loop and no tennis ball.

Hot and sticky, sunny and 87F.

Balin has many adventures.

Tuesday, September 6, 2016

Tuesday

Cool and quite breezy, 77F, but getting more humid again. I guess this is all were going to get off the great storm that wasn't :)

More Arthurian legend... but I'll tell you something- Merlin is a bit of an ass. He loves to pop up and yell some knight "ooh, you shouldn't have done that, now 3 kingdoms will suffer for 12 years because of what you did". Douche. You couldn't have said that before?

Monday, September 5, 2016

Labor Day

Cool and overcast, 69F, but very little wind, though that's supposed to change.

Balin draws the sword.

Sunday, September 4, 2016

Sunday

What a lovely day! 78F, low humidity, lots of sunshine, blue skies, and a gentle breeze :) what tropical storm?

Arthur journeys north to tackle the 11 kings.

Saturday, September 3, 2016

Calm before the storm?

Calm and overcast, 71F and not so humid. Well see what Hermine brings tomorrow...

I did pull the trigger on Le Morte D'Arthur, and we begin with Caxton's preface.

Friday, September 2, 2016

Friday

About the same as yesterday as we wait for the tropical storm to come up the coast, 78F.

Many wonderful responses to our announcement yesterday- feeling very supported :)

Still on music. I'm considering a reading of Le Morte d'Arthur, but not sure if I'm up for 37 hours of Arthurian legend ;)

Thursday, September 1, 2016

It's a girl!

Didn't get here yesterday what with going to look at Robyn's house and all sorts of other things, but I dropped mum and dad at the airport early this morning and hopefully they had a good flight. The big reveal was today and so far we're blown away by all the incredibly positive reactions we're getting:)

Warm and a bit humid, but overcast, 75F.

Tuesday, August 30, 2016

Tuesday with Dad

:)

Warm and sunny, 82F.
