Hot and sticky, 84F. But it's still nice to be outside in shorts- when we went to the mall earlier I assumed it would be over-air-conditioned as American malls usually are so I wore jeans. Big mistake as their A/C wasn't working!

Lovely day, hot (86F) but the humidity is down to about 51%. One of the nice things about this walk is that most of it is in the shade :)

I forgot about them charging for parking on holidays, but when I saw the man at the entrance I remembered and told him I'd go and park across the street. However he was nice enough to let me park at the bottom of the hill for nothing :)

Sunday stroll

Not raining :)  we managed to get out before the thunderstorms they are threatening us with again this afternoon. Warm and sunny, 77F, but still very sticky.

In a disturbing turn of events, there was a sign at the bottom of the drive up to the woods announcing that they are going to start charging $5 for parking on weekends and holidays :( There was a nice man there to explain that weekdays will still be free, and there is a parking lot on the other side of Mamaroneck Ave where we will apparently be able to park for free when they are charging, but apparently this is in answer to all the people who park badly and block the emergency areas when they are using the picnic areas for large, organised picnics. Oh well, we'll just have to park across the street and walk a little further, I think we can manage that ;)

Caught in a thunderstorm, 82F. No music, and I'm posting this from the car after the walk, I just whipped my phone out long enough to snap this and then it went back in it's plastic bag!

I'm very pleased I have a dog who doesn't mind thunder and who seems to enjoy being caught in the rain as much as I do :)

Late walk for a Friday after working all day supervising cleaners at the church and the rectory, but I get Monday and Tuesday off next week :)

Tuesday lunchtime

Holly and snuck out for a lunchtime walk as I was all sweaty from moving about 2 tons of boxes from the balcony to the library, and it seemed to make sense to come out to the woods before I took a shower.

I love the woods like this just after it's rained, the trails smell strongly of chlorophyll with an undercurrent of wild garlic :) 59F and the sun's just coming out.
