Strong sun today,  86F. Very busy and loud up at the barbecue areas by the parking lot, but only a few other souls walking the trails.

Saturday stroll

Nice day, sunny and quite hot (90F) with the occasional zephyr of cooler air, but the torrential thunderstorms we had last night seem to have washed away most of the humidity - and they topped up Holly's stream nicely :)

It's funny the way that works - if it just rains a little it seems that the rain just hits the hot ground and evaporates, making it more humid; but if we get a proper downpour it cools the hot ground and washes the humidity out of the air. I've also not been bothered by bugs today, but I've seen lots of Monarch butterflies.

Right now my GPS located weather widget officially says 103F and that's down from the high for the day of 105! Factor in the humidity, which thankfully is actually fairly low, and the heat index is somewhere around 109. Even the bugs think it's too hot and are very lethargic today. Can't wait to get home to the A/C!

Thankfully there is still a trickle of running water between the pools in Holly's stream so she can go in cool off (I don't like her going in it when the water is stagnant).
