A nice walk after a fun day out on the Circle Line with Mum and Dad. First proper fall-feeling walk... still a bit warm, 66F and humid, but windy with leaves and nuts falling all over the place :)

Spent the morning ripping the deck of the back of the rectory (to find that it will need to be completely replaced). But after this walk I shall take a quick shower and then we're invited to go and enjoy the Heffernan's pool :)

Another nice day, 81F, sunny, with the odd gentle zephyr.

Finished The Road about 1/2 a mile back. Beautifully written and very moving, I'm glad I "read" it, but it is definitely not light reading!

Next up I do have something lighter on deck, a book about a serial killer in Miami, Darkly Dreaming Dexter. Although it doesn't sound lighter, if it's anything like the TV series they based on it, its overall tone should be quite upbeat and humorous. It's read by the author (not something I'd usually recommend- let the authors write the books and leave the reading to those who specialize in it) but as the lead character is a little weird and it's written in the first person it may work quite well... time will tell.

A late walk for a day off, had to wait for Jackie to get home from work as we'd swapped cars for the day so I could finally get spare keys cut for the new one (and not pay the $90 the dealer wanted!).
