Crazy weather, the sun is out and it's 49F! 

It seems to have brought everyone out of hiding as the woods are full of people this afternoon.

Saturday

After a very busy morning at the church (unloading Christmas trees and all sorts of other little tasks) it's lovely to come out to the woods with my faithful pooch :)

Friday

Spent a happy 4 1/2 hours putting up the Christmas decorations in the Parish Hall, and then rewarded myself by coming out with Holly and doing our full, usual loop.

Holly is doing much better, still limping a bit when she walks, but seems almost back to normal it here in the woods- in fact she's looking at me expectantly now, hoping I'll pull out a tennis ball (sorry, but no tennis ball 'til she's fully healed). I'm not sure if she's healed or just got used to it, but she's going in to the vet on Tuesday to be sedated and x-rayed to see if we can finally find out what's been causing this.

The snow we were promised never materialized, so it's just cool and damp, 34F.

A bit cooler, 52F, and we're under a winter storm watch for tomorrow... 4- 10 inches by Thursday morning. But I don't have to shovel it :)

It's 60F right now and I'm walking the dog in shirt sleeves, but on Wednesday we're supposed to get 3-6" of snow!

Veteran's Day

Warm with a gentle breeze, 60F.

Holly seemed none the worse for wear yesterday, so we're back- just the short loop though.

It's so good to be back!

Finally, after 2 1/2 weeks, we are back in the woods.

Holly seems to be responding well to the meds the new very had given her, and it was so nice today I thought I'd risk the short loop. Hopefully she shows no ill effects and we can come back tomorrow- she certainly looks pretty perky right now, and has just brought me a tennis ball she's found and is looking at me expectantly (I will not be throwing it for her!).

No book or music, it's nice just to enjoy the wind through the trees!

They've done lots of work on the trails in our absence- like the approach to the bridge here- will detail more as we reacclimatize ourselves :)
