Happy Hallowe'en

Another nice morning, 36F and sunny :)

Random music while I chose another book

Tuesday

Another crisp, sunny morning, 41F.

We sang Day by Day (the Godspell version) at SoulFood on Saturday, so I'm listening to the 2011 Broadway revival cast album, and I'm not crazy about it! I get that they wanted to put their own spin on it, but it's lost the rough inocense that made the original so powerful.

And would you believe that the one version that is not available online is the original London cast? I had to order it on vinyl from the UK on eBay. I'll be much happier when it arrives and I have that to listen to (make a circle, great big circle) :)

Monday morning

Another pretty morning, 49F and the sun is just lighting the woods sideways :)

Just finished Walden. Some words to live by at the end, especially in the current world.

Sunday

Lots of people out today, and why not, it's a nice fall day: 52F with occasional bursts of sunshine

The theme for tomorrow's photo class is "blur", which I'm interpreting as "bokeh" :) So I'm out with a trio of my favorite Russian lenses. If any of it works I'll throw it up on the other blog.

Various classical music.

Saturday

Wet and windy, 50F.

Didn't make here yesterday coz I was in the city all day, so it's very nice to come out and let nature blow the cobwebs away!

I think Thoreau has been alone in the woods too long... He's off on some crazy tangent about spring!

Thursday, October 25, 2018

Thursday

An absolutely gorgeous, brisk fall day, 40F with lots of low, early morning sunshine (I kinda wish I'd thought to bring my camera!)

Sounding Walden Pond.

Wednesday, October 24, 2018

Wednesday

I actually was here yesterday morning too, but I forgot my phone again :( I had intended to come back last night after work but it was a crazy day so I zoned out at home instead ;)

A pleasant morning, 44F and breezy.

Winter antics of a squirrel.

Monday, October 22, 2018

Monday morning

Crisp and cold, not quite a frost yet, 37F.

Those of us who worked all weekend don't have to go into work until noon today :) So I will go home and spend a happy morning catching up on laundry and downloading all the pictures I took.

Winter on Walden Pond.

Sunday

What a lovely fall day! Sunny and bright and windy, 47F.

Back from a very successful Confirmation Retreat :)

Battle of the ants.

Saturday

I am away on a confirmation retreat upstate, but Jackie took Holly out and kindly took this picture. 66F and sunny.

Friday, October 19, 2018

Friday

Colder and bright, 38F, and I had to scrape Friday off the car windshield this morning :)

More woodsy philosophy about man's place in nature.

Thursday, October 18, 2018

Thursday

A lovely, brisk, sunny, fall morning, 41F.

Thoreau waxes lyrical about the pond.

Wednesday, October 17, 2018

Wednesday

A latish walk for a day off, but I had to work a funeral this morning. Cool and windy, 60F

Chatting with Crisp about her latest creative writing assignment.

Tuesday, October 16, 2018

Tuesday, second walk

I was actually here this morning at 7, but I forgot my phone! So as it is such a nice day I came back with Holly and Crisp so I can get a picture :)

Cool and very nice, seasonal and 54F.

Monday, October 15, 2018

Monday morning

Raining gently and coolish, 54F.

The waters of Walden Pond.

Sunday, October 14, 2018

Sunday

A nice fall day, 57F; a little overcast, but pleasant enough.

I've just learnt more about the husbandry of beans than I ever wanted to know!

Saturday, October 13, 2018

Saturday

Cooler (I actually had to fire up the church boilers this morning) and a bit damp, 51F.

Chatting with Crisp about school and the state of the world

Friday, October 12, 2018

Windy Friday

Cooler and quite windy, 57F, as we deal with the remnants of Michael.

The French-Canadian woodsman.

Thursday, October 11, 2018

Thursday

Still warm and humid, thunderstorms this afternoon, 72F.

Apparently Thoreau is not lonely.

Wednesday, October 10, 2018

Wednesday

Warmer and very humid, 78F, I thought we were done with this!

Taking pictures for my photo class, check the other blog for the results later :)

Various 60s music.

Tuesday, October 9, 2018

Tuesday

Back to work so back to early walks :)

Cool but still humid and drizzly, 67F.

Thoreau goes trainspotting.

Monday, October 8, 2018

Monday

We're all of today for Columbus Day (except Crisp, who has classes today) so we're walking with Jackie, Robyn and her kids :)

Damp and humid, 64F.

Sunday, October 7, 2018

Sunday

Warmer and sticky (aren't we done with that yet?), 75F.

A very successful though slightly crazy blessing of the animals at 10 this morning, and Doctor Who in just under an hour :)

Thoreau is a bit of an intellectual snob!

Saturday, October 6, 2018

Saturday

A nice, slightly overcast day, 66F. And we have been joined by Crisp and Malloy :)

Chatting about school and D&D.

Friday, October 5, 2018

Friday

A lovely morning, sunny and a bit cooler, 58F, with a light breeze.

Listening to NPR.

Thursday, October 4, 2018

Thursday

A nice morning, a little humid, with low sun and 59F,  but it's going up to 78F today. I guess fall is taking it's time this year ;)

Thoreau seems to recommend that we all just sit around with our thumbs up our arses :)

Wednesday, October 3, 2018

Wednesday

We had some wicked thunderstorms last night, and we're actually under a tornado warning too! Today it's calm cool, 68F, and everything glistens. I love being out in the woods after a storm, and I brought my cameras along... see the other blog for the pics.

More woodsy philosophy from Thoreau.

Tuesday

A nice morning, cool and a bit damp, 64F.

The evils of travel and farming.

Monday, October 1, 2018

Monday morning

Cool but starting to get a bit humid again, 62F.

The evils of housing.
