Thursday off

Another nice brisk morning, sunny and 29F.

Early walk even though it's my day off as I have things to do (not least a man coming to look at our recalcitrant fire alarm this afternoon).

Questioning the survivors.

Wednesday, December 5, 2018

Wednesday morning

Brisk and clear and still, 27F, a lovely morning.

Dr Benson is incapacitated.

Tuesday, December 4, 2018

Tuesday morning

A much more seasonal morning, sunny and brisk and 35F with a light breeze.

Murder is proven.

A nice morning, low sun through the fog and 51F.

Dr Carpenter explains.

Sunday, December 2, 2018

Soggy Sunday

Foggy and damp, but the rain if this morning has mostly stopped, 52F.

A good First Sunday of Advent this morning, back to work in a couple of hours to help a couple celebrate their 40th anniversary with a renewal of vows :)

Saturday, December 1, 2018

Late Saturday

Later than I'd like because of the Christmas Tree Sale, but at least it's still light and not raining :) It's been a lovely day, mostly sunny, and right now it's 43F.

Back to the Dolphin and loading torpedos.

Friday, November 30, 2018

Ann afternoon walk coz I was busy with the delivery of 297 Christmas trees at 7:30 this morning ;)

Sleeting gently and 40F.

Zebra is found, but the radio is busted.

Thursday, November 29, 2018

A nice, blustery day, 45F and lots of sunshine :)

Walking across the ice.

Wednesday, November 28, 2018

Cooler, 36F with a stiff breeze.

I'm starting to get to know some of the other early birds and their dogs :)

Down under the ice and back up 100 miles later.

Cool, 41F, and everything is pretty soggy from all the rain we got last night.

The Dolphin is under way.

Saturday, November 24, 2018

A tad warmer, 42F, and a bit grey.

Couldn't find a new book that caught my interest, so I'm listening to an old one- Ice Station Zebra.

Friday, November 23, 2018

Black Friday

Lots of people in the woods today even though it's still very cold, 29F. It's usually the second busiest day off the year, second only to Boxing Day.

Finishing off the Victorians with a chapter on Sherlock Holmes.

Thursday, November 22, 2018

Happy Thanksgiving!

Brisk and very cold, 19F with a stiff breeze making it feel even colder!

The annual playing of Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Restaurant :)

Wednesday, November 21, 2018

A seasonally cold day, 44F, with a nice breeze and mostly cloudy skies. We've very kindly been given the day off (poor Jackie has to work on her birthday), so we can take a nice leisurely lunchtime walk :)

Tuesday, November 20, 2018

Very similar to yesterday, cool and mostly still, 42F.

Victorian loonies.

Monday, November 19, 2018

Monday AM

A nice, seasonal morning, 41F, grey and still.

More Victorian indiscretions.

Cool and breezy, 39F. Nipped out between church and Greg coming to put the lights on the tree.

More gay Victorians.

Saturday, November 17, 2018

Busy Saturday

Trying to decompress a little and get some inspiration for my last photo class on Monday. It's been a very busy weekend so far with the theater last night and a big funeral this morning, and there's SoulFood and then regular Sunday morning still to come :)

Misc. 70s punky music.

Friday, November 16, 2018

Boy, snow it did! A lot has already melted but we got a good 6" last night- it took Jackie hours to get home.

Today is sunny and warmer, 43F and we're out for a lunchtime walk before header to the theater tonight :)

More Victorian nonsense.

Thursday, November 15, 2018

Waiting to see if it will indeed snow... Right now it's 33F, overcast and windy.

Victorian sewers and the like.

Wednesday, November 14, 2018

Brisk and cold, 36F, with a gusty wind. And they're forecasting snow for tomorrow!

Cool and damp, 46F. A lunchtime walk coz it was tipping down at 7 this morning ;)

More Victorian femme fatales.

Monday, November 12, 2018

Veterans Day

Nice to have a day off, but I can't help thinking about all the work that is piling up. Oh well, it'll all get done somehow :)

We finally had a freeze last night, and today it's cool with a light breeze, 48F.

Stephen Fry and Victorian women criminals.

Sunday, November 11, 2018

A cool, brisk afternoon, 46F. Less windy and we never actually got down to freezing last night.

Chatting with Crisp again :)

Saturday, November 10, 2018

Saturday afternoon

Cool and windy, 43F. We're supposed to get down to freezing for the first time this year tonight.

Walking with Crisp taking pictures for her photography class and we ran into the Dean of her school :)

Chatting about stuff.

Friday, November 9, 2018

Brisk and colder this morning, 37F, the first day I have put on my gloves, but nice and sunny as well.

Done with freakshows, on to pornography.

Thursday, November 8, 2018

Temperate Thursday

What a lovely day, sunny and 54F with a light breeze to bring down a regular shower of leaves.

Just checked on my printer via Alfred, and all seems to be going well (check the other blog if you don't know what I'm talking about).

More Stephen Fry, this time about Victorian freakshows.

Wednesday, November 7, 2018

What a gorgeous morning! It's such a shame Monkey couldn't take pictures this morning but she has an early class and then meetings with a couple of professors and advisers. Sunny and 54F.

Listening to the London Cast of Godspell.

Tuesday, November 6, 2018

Election Day

Absolutely pissing down! 55F

Out with Crisp who has to take some landscape pictures, poor thing :(

Monday, November 5, 2018

A cooler and drizzly morning, 50F.

I am struck by the colors of the trees this morning, they must look amazing to those who aren't as color-blind as me!

Got a freebie from Audible to tide me over, Stephen Fry's Victorian Secrets

Sunday, November 4, 2018

A nice fall day, sunny and 55F and lots of people are out enjoying it :)

Catching up on a podcast or two.

Saturday, November 3, 2018

Windy Saturday afternoon

Warm but very windy today, 55F with wind gusts up to 40mph, lovely :)

Chatting with Crisp about everything from next semester's classes to Russian cosmonauts to video games.

Friday, November 2, 2018

Crazy weather, it's already 65F and very humid! We're supposed to get big storms later today, it feels like it too.

More random music.

Thursday, November 1, 2018

As this is now my day off we're here for a rare afternoon walk :) crazy weather... it's 70F!

More random music, gotta find a new book!

Wednesday, October 31, 2018

Happy Hallowe'en

Another nice morning, 36F and sunny :)

Random music while I chose another book

Tuesday, October 30, 2018

Another crisp, sunny morning, 41F.

We sang Day by Day (the Godspell version) at SoulFood on Saturday, so I'm listening to the 2011 Broadway revival cast album, and I'm not crazy about it! I get that they wanted to put their own spin on it, but it's lost the rough inocense that made the original so powerful.

And would you believe that the one version that is not available online is the original London cast? I had to order it on vinyl from the UK on eBay. I'll be much happier when it arrives and I have that to listen to (make a circle, great big circle) :)

Monday, October 29, 2018

Monday morning

Another pretty morning, 49F and the sun is just lighting the woods sideways :)

Just finished Walden. Some words to live by at the end, especially in the current world.

Sunday, October 28, 2018

Lots of people out today, and why not, it's a nice fall day: 52F with occasional bursts of sunshine

The theme for tomorrow's photo class is "blur", which I'm interpreting as "bokeh" :) So I'm out with a trio of my favorite Russian lenses. If any of it works I'll throw it up on the other blog.

Various classical music.

Saturday, October 27, 2018

Wet and windy, 50F.

Didn't make here yesterday coz I was in the city all day, so it's very nice to come out and let nature blow the cobwebs away!

I think Thoreau has been alone in the woods too long... He's off on some crazy tangent about spring!

Thursday, October 25, 2018

An absolutely gorgeous, brisk fall day, 40F with lots of low, early morning sunshine (I kinda wish I'd thought to bring my camera!)

Sounding Walden Pond.

Wednesday, October 24, 2018

I actually was here yesterday morning too, but I forgot my phone again :( I had intended to come back last night after work but it was a crazy day so I zoned out at home instead ;)

A pleasant morning, 44F and breezy.

Winter antics of a squirrel.

Monday, October 22, 2018

Monday morning

Crisp and cold, not quite a frost yet, 37F.

Those of us who worked all weekend don't have to go into work until noon today :) So I will go home and spend a happy morning catching up on laundry and downloading all the pictures I took.

Winter on Walden Pond.

Sunday, October 21, 2018

What a lovely fall day! Sunny and bright and windy, 47F.

Back from a very successful Confirmation Retreat :)

Battle of the ants.
